This Lenten season, Saint Joseph’s Parish is providing families with a unique opportunity to walk with Jesus and connect his ministry to their daily lives. The church is hosting “A Lenten Walk with Jesus for the Family”, a 5-week program held on Saturday mornings from 10-11AM in the church meeting room.
Centered on key moments in Jesus’ life, each session explores a different aspect of his example and teachings. Families will learn how to weave Jesus’ message of love, compassion, and service into their experiences at home, school, work, and everywhere in between.
The program aims to inspire reflection and quality time among family members during the Lenten preparation for Easter. The hour will be split into four 15-minute blocks focusing on a Bible reading, discussing why it matters for families, brainstorming practical applications, and committing to actions that live out Jesus’ lessons.
The weekly themes include:
February 24 – Jesus’ baptism, temptation, and the launch of his ministry
March 2 – Jesus’ use of parables to teach core values
March 9 – Jesus’ embodiment of divine forgiveness when healing others
March 16 – Exploring the holy trinity of the Father, Son, and Spirit
March 23 – Jesus as the ultimate model of love and service
By journeying through Lent with Jesus as their guide, families will discover how to integrate gospel-centered principles more fully into their home life. The sessions aim to spur purposeful time together as well as personal spiritual growth for all ages.
Saint Joseph invites all parish families to attend this faith-filled Lenten activity as part of their preparation during the season. By walking with Christ, families can strengthen their bonds and live Jesus’ redeeming example every day.
